Leading the Global Travel & Tourism Industry

The Sway Effect serves as global communications agency of record for the WTTC. Our focus is to promote the organization as a leading voice for the travel and tourism industry worldwide while also promoting CEO Gloria Guevara as Chief Architect of the organization. 

 

Notable recent work includes:

- WTTC Climate and Environment Action Forum (September 2019) during the UN Assembly. Coverage included The New York TimesThe Financial TimesTravel Weekly.

- WTTC at 2019 World Travel Market to reveal its crisis readiness report on CNN International “Quest Express; moderated a panel with Ministers of Tourism from Kenya and Egypt along with leaders from the USA government and Global Rescue. 

 

- Supported day-to-day efforts, promoting partnerships and key initiatives such as biometrics. Media coverage includes Bloomberg, CNN, Boston Globe, Associated Press, and Forbes.​

Establishing a Unifying Message for Good

​The Sway Effect’s founder Jennifer Risi has a longstanding relationship with UN Women and serves as a senior communications advisor to UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka. Current work is focused on crafting a strategic message platform to bring all initiatives, programs and partnerships together to showcase the collective mission of the organization while also providing media relations support when called upon by the Executive Director.

Driving Diversity and Repositioning for the Future

The Sway Effect serves as the global communications partner to the 4A’s Foundation. Our program is focused on repositioning the organization and launching a series of new initiatives aimed at driving diversity and inclusion across the marketing and communications industry today. Jennifer Risi also serves on the 4A’s Foundation Board.

 

Advising Top Leadership

The Sway Effect serves as global communications advisor to CEO Matt Calkins. As part of the program, the team has developed a new CEO narrative that will serve as the basis for all marketing and communications. The team also manages the CEO visibility campaign, working in close partnership with Appian’s other PR partners.

Presenting at Visit Florida

​The Sway Effect team hosted a workshop at the Florida Tourism Forum in Panama City focused on the tangible benefits of integrating diversity, inclusion and equity in all aspects of business. Our founder Jennifer Risi coached participants through what this process actually looks like to inspire the audience to action

Celebrating Fiesta Amigos

De Mazatlán

The Sway Effect team is committed to increasing the number of tourists who visit the beautiful city of Mazatlán. As part of this effort, the Sway team organized a press trip in October 2019 that included influential business and trade from the USA and Canada.  Up next, the team is working with key global business media outlets to tell the story of how the government and private are working together to drive tourism to the region.  We also have a second press trip planned for January 2020.
